Get Reel Film Fest: Opening Night Events
Join us for the opening night of the Get Reel Film Fest by Stella's Place.
To kick off the week's events, we will be premiering three original shorts exploring themes of mental health and identity. The lineup includes a deeply relatable comedy about insomnia, an animation about a Canadian immigrant's relationship with her cultural identity, and a drama about a woman separated from her family and struggling with PTSD after fleeing the war in Ukraine.
Each film has been commissioned by Get Reel as part of the Emerging Artist Scholarship program.
Get Reel Film Fest: Mental Health Documentary Night Events
Join us for the closing night of the Get Reel Film Fest by Stella's Place, featuring a brilliant lineup of mental health documentaries at HotDocs Cinema.
To close out the week, we will be screening four short films exploring themes of intergenerational trauma, chronic illness, anti-Black racism, incarceration, social justice and mindfulness, followed by a brief panel discussion and guided meditation exercise.
