Has COVID-19 affected youth gambling behavior? Are youth using video games differently during the pandemic? Given current restrictions how does a program effectively discuss gambling awareness with youth?
Learn the skill of mindful living in a small group setting!
Starting, Sept. 1, we are gathering for 8 consecutive weeks, each Wednesday at 8:30PM, to learn and practice mindfulness. This course will be facilitated by our experienced instructor and strong meditator, Lou Carcasole – P. Eng., MBA, M. Ed.

When a free to play game provides an opportunity to pay to play, does it become gambling? What are loot boxes and how does the government regulate them? How do video games promote gambling among youth? What is a Freemium Model game?
All these questions and more will be discussed in this free webinar being conducted by the YMCA of Greater Toronto's Youth Gambling Awareness Program.
Has COVID-19 affected youth gambling behavior? Are youth using video games differently during the pandemic? Given current restrictions how does a program effectively discuss gambling awareness with youth?
How many youth were exposed to a gambling ad during lockdown? Can Twitch be used to gamble? Are influencers being used to market gambling products? How do YouTube's new restrictions effect the presence of gambling advertisements on the platform?
The YMCA of Greater Toronto's Youth Gambling Awareness Program's (YGAP) Media Impact presentation will tackle these questions and more, in a free hour long session.
This workshop is designed to provide information on harm reduction to family members and other individuals who may be supporting someone who uses drugs, as well as experiencing mental health concerns, including but not limited to psychosis. The workshop will help participants to understand what harm reduction is, and how harm reduction principles can be applied in supporting someone who may be struggling with both substance use and mental health concerns. We will discuss tangible skills and strategies for participants to be able to implement following the workshop.
This webinar is hosted by the Association of Justice and Treatment Professionals (AJTP) and the International Association of Treatment Court Professionals (IATCP).
As we gain a better understanding of the cause and effects of substance abuse and drug addiction, treatment strategies evolve and improve. This session will discuss three treatment philosophies i.e. abstinence, harm reduction and a trauma informed approach.
Do the words we use matter? What impact does stigma have on problem gambling? What can we do to break the cycle of stigma?
