About this webinar:
The current overdose crisis and the new reality of cannabis legalization are underpinning a drive to re-examine the range of practices around substance use and their implications for YMHSU services. Given the acute extent of the overdose crisis, some stakeholders, including people with lived and living experience, have highlighted the critical need to increase community capacity to provide compassionate, non-judgemental harm reduction services.

This is a free webinar conducted by the YMCA's Youth Gambling Awareness Program (YCAP) that will discuss the topic of budgeting, saving and credit. Additionally, it explores the financial risks and implications of gambling, dispels myths about money/credit and gambling, explores the concepts of needs vs. wants as well as odds and probability and provides resources and money saving strategies. The webinar's content is designed for parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, college/university students and adults involved in young people’s lives.

The YMCA of Greater Toronto's Youth Cannabis Awareness Program (YCAP) is presently running a Digital Media Contest that challenges youth (ages 18 – 25) to create a video or poster discussing how cannabis use affects youth brain development, and we were wondering if you’d be willing to help us choose a winner by joining the Contest Organizer’s Jury (CO Jury).

Join the University of Calgary's Cannabis Café Town Hall event! This online event will focus on disseminating findings from the UCalgary Cannabis Café research project, promoting educationally focused harm reduction strategies for lower risk cannabis use, as well as facilitating discussion around cannabis research. The panel discussion will be focused on the topic of cannabis research with youth and emerging adults, as well as harm-reduction education. Featuring Dr. Rebecca Haines-Saah & Dr. Monty Ghosh.

This is a free webinar designed for service providers and parents of youth, during which we will explore the topics of stigma and gambling. Through discussing these topics attendees will learn and talk about how stigma impacts the lives of people with gambling problems and creates a reluctance to seek help, and methods to reduce the stigma and stereotypes associated with mental health problems.

We are welcoming all youth (ages 14 to 27) to take advantage of this FREE 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Program.

This is a Canadian Red Cross-sponsored initiative to help youth learn one of the best techniques to reduce stress and anxiety and gain the resilience to deal with any of the stressors of daily life.

The 8-week MBSR program will involve 1.5 hours of weekly lecture and meditation practice in a virtual setting.

Media Impact is a free webinar created by the YMCA of Greater Toronto's Youth Gambling Awareness Program. It is designed for educators, community leaders, parents, and anyone else who is curious about how media effects youth. The aim of this webinar is to provide insight into how youth can develop/enhance their critical thinking skills in relation to media and advertisements. Throughout the hour long webinar, participants will explore marketing techniques and a wide variety of media content, including gambling advertisements.
