Calling all adult professionals working in the field of health care, youth, and cannabis! The YMCA of Greater Toronto's Youth 4 Youth Digital Media Contest, run alongside the Youth Cannabis Awareness Program, is currently recruiting jury members to help determine the Top 8 submissions for the contest. Below is some information on the contest itself.

The Youth 4 Youth (Y4Y) - Youth Cannabis Awareness Program (YCAP) is running its third annual digital media contest .The contest is free to enter and challenges youth across Canada (aged 18-24) to create either a poster, video or both that takes a neutral and evidence-based approach to discussing how cannabis use affects youth brain development. The top 5 submissions each receive prizes with the winning video being awarded $2000 and the winning poster receiving $750.

Join us for an engaging discussion about sleep and cannabis. During this webinar, our presenters will discuss: the extent and nature of cannabis use in Canada; how cannabis affects sleep and general health; and the emerging evidence for cannabis in the treatment of sleep disorder.  A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

We are excited to announce the launch of Cannabis and Mental Health!

This webinar will present an overview of cannabis, with a focus on sex and gender influences. During this webinar, participants will become more familiar with cannabis fundamentals, risks and potential harms, therapeutic uses, and cannabis use and mental health. There will be a focus on sex and gender related factors influencing the prevalence, patterns, and effects of cannabis use and cannabis use disorder. Our presenter will also briefly discuss cannabis research studies happening at CAMH and how to get involved.

Health Canada is pleased to announce the publication of its consultation on proposed Regulations Amending Certain Regulations Concerning Cannabis Research and Testing and Cannabis Beverages.

The consultation provides Canadians and interested stakeholders with the opportunity to comment on Health Canada’s proposed regulatory amendments to the Cannabis Act, the Cannabis Regulations, and the Cannabis Exemption (Food and Drugs Act) Regulations.
