The IDEALSS framework integrates intersectionality, decolonization, health equity, anti-racism, lived and living experience, social determinants and sex- and gender-based analysis models.

Virtual Conference: Dialogue to Action – Registration now open Events

The conference will be hosted virtually on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
The conference will offer 25 workshops featuring best, promising and emerging practices in the sector.

Help develop a tool for collecting health equity data in health care in Canada! Forum topic
The Upstream Lab at the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions at St. Michael's Hospital is developing the SPARK Tool to collect data on people’s characteristics (such as gender, language preference, race) and social needs (such as income, housing, food security) in health care in Canada! Social needs can impact a person's health. Understanding someone’s characteristics and social needs can help improve healthcare.
To develop and validate the SPARK tool, they need a large number of Canadians to complete the tool so that they can make it better.

Within this webinar, Dr. Sarah Funnell - Founding Director of the Centre for Indigenous Health Research and Education, Faculty of Medicine, uOttawa and an Assistant Professor in uOttawa's Department of Family Medicine with a cross appointment to the School of Epidemiology and Public Health - will provide the audience with a discussion that critically analyzes and explores root causes of Indigenous health inequity and recognizes the strengths in Indigenous communities, including that culture is healing.
