CAMH PFLS: Opioid Use and Administering Naloxone Events

Please join us on May 17th at 12:00pm for a presentation on opioid use and naloxone. During this session, we will discuss the “why?” of recommended harm reduction techniques and the important aspects of responding to an opioid poisoning. By the end of the presentation, we hope that participants will be able to

- Describe what an opioid is, and why there is a focus on the opioid poisoning crisis

- Identify risk factors for an opioid poisoning, and strategies to minimize them

- Articulate the steps in responding to an opioid poisoning

Enough is ENOUGH- Opioid Overdoses Forum topic

My son Pete died on Dec 23 2021 to an accidental Opioid Overdose. It will be TWENTY YEARS this year that he died.  I shake my head in absolute despair about this escalating crisis/epidemic.

From Jan 2020 to the end of November 20202167 people have died

59% increase over the same period in 2019
