The Housing First Europe Hub team is happy to announce its next Webinar on ‘Unlocking Potential: Opportunities for a housing-led shift in Hungary.’

This webinar will occur on November 7, from 5 am to 6 am Eastern (CET: 11 am - 12 pm; UK/ Ireland GMT: 10 am - 11 am; Finland EET; 12 pm - 01 pm).

As a social determinant of health, housing can have an enormous impact on student mental health. In this webinar, we are joined by Rylan Kinnon, founder and CEO of SpacesShared, as well as Sarah Stackhouse from Georgian College, one of the SpacesShared partner institutions. SpacesShared is a home-share program that pairs students with older adults. Our guests will provide a presentation on student housing insecurity, and then explore systemic solutions to the issue, including the SpacesShared platform.

While it’s absurd that we have been reduced to have to advocate for fair provincial housing allocations to address homelessness in Ottawa, let’s join with the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa campaign and their efforts to mobilize the community.

As Dusko Miljevic, social worker with the Mood and Anxiety program at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre said to a small group of us discussing the situation recently, “there is no recovery without housing.”

Lived Experience & Recovery Network (LERN) is excited to share that we are planning for our Annual Conference, occurring on June 22 & June 23, 2023, in-person in North Bay, Ontario.
LERN’s conference has individuals gathering that are from northeast Ontario. Our attendees are from LERN’s member organizations and programs that are in various roles within Peer Work/Peer Support Workers.

Youth experiencing homelessness have particular needs that require the adaptation of Housing First to meet those needs. Research from Canada and Europe on adaptations of Housing First is presented in this webinar.

This is the third webinar in the International Housing First Series. It is presented by EENet with the Canadian Housing First Network and Housing First Europe Hub.
