New report: Healthcare Utilization and Clinical Comorbidities among People Who Died of a Substance-Related Toxicity Death in Ontario Forum topic
This joint report by the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (ODPRN) and Public Health Ontario (PHO) highlights the high prevalence of healthcare needs and use among Ontarians who died of a substance-related toxicity. It aims to help provide insight into where and why individuals present to healthcare settings prior to death, with the goal of identifying gaps in access to care and supportive services for people who use substances.

Overwhelming demand - a nice problem to have - has led the Drug Strategy Network of Ontario in collaboration with Canadian Drug Policy Coalition and so many others to re-open the opportunity to endorse the letter urging provincial action. Timmins and Sudbury are among existing sites winding down this week. Other communities have been stalled at the provincial level for years. Deaths and injuries are guaranteed in the absence of movement from the province. Guaranteed- that's not hyperbole in the least.
