FREE "Failure To Launch" Email Course for Parents of Highly Dependent Adult Children Events

Starting November 6th, a free 10-day email series entitled "Launch Support Holiday Challenge" will support parents of highly dependent adult children with coping strategies over the holidays.

The first three days will focus on intention setting, the next three on the days leading up to the festive event, and the last three plus one will be dedicated to stress management and communication strategies parents can employ in the moment, as well as to reflection.

Problem technology use in adults Events

This webinar will discuss research on problem technology use, focusing on a recent study of problem electronic device use among Ontario adults. This representative telephone survey study found moderate to severe problem technology use in 7.9% of the adult population. Problems with technology use were associated with suicidal ideation, serious psychological distress, problem alcohol use, and treatment for anxiety.

Canadian healthcare providers now have the tools they need to better support the prevention, assessment and treatment of older adults at risk of, or living with, substance use disorders. The Canadian Coalition for Seniors' Mental Health (CCSMH) officially launched four sets of clinical guidelines on substance use disorders in older adults today.

How should Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) be delivered for adults with acute symptoms of depression? Forum topic

A recently released study looked at different modes of CBT administration among adults with symptoms of depression. They compared the effectiveness of CBT delivered individually, by telephone, in a group, or by guided or unguided self-help. The researchers looked at randomized clinical trials published between January 1, 1966 and 2018.
