It is important to have a strong and healthy variety of coping mechanisms to process stressful events and without there may be an increase in the risk of misusing substances or using substances to cope. Learn tips for how to support someone who has a substance use disorder without using language that perpetuates stigma. In one hour we will discuss the disease that is addiction and Opioid Use Disorder. There will be information on the various treatments available for recovery from addiction and opioid use disorder, how addiction is diagnosed and risk factors for developing a substance use disorder. This life saving medication is doing its part in the opioid crisis. Join the conversation with the Youth Opioid Awareness Program at the YMCA. Learn the signs of an opioid overdose and what can increase the risk of an overdose in this 1-hour webinar. You can obtain information on how to use a naloxone kit to reverse the effects of an overdose and how to help someone when you do not have a naloxone kit.
