Kimberly Cato, Registered Psychotherapist and Executive Director of True Roots Counselling Services, hosts this "round-table" discussion with Cannabis Experts and Influencers about the impact of cannabis on pain management, mental health and addictions, as well as exploring the business of cannabis since legalization in Canada.

At 12:30 p.m. EST today Health Canada provided an update on the legalization and regulation of cannabis in Canada. The new legislation will make it legal to purchase edible cannabis, cannabis extracts and cannabis topicals for consumption this fall.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

The research symposium will bring together cannabis and cannabinoid researchers and trainees from the University of Toronto and Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network and will provide an opportunity to network, seek new collaborations, build links and share health research findings related to cannabis and cannabinoids.  Featuring short talks/data blitzes, panel sessions, and poster presentations, the research day will serve as an interactive platform to highlight preclinical, clinical and policy research in Toronto.

Program Overview

Please join us for an interactive, informative workshop where you will learn about the impact of impairment on health and safety in your workplace, discuss the roles of employers, supervisors etc. and create an action plan for managing impairment in YOUR workplace. You will also learn about the legislation, responsibilities and roles  that apply to workplaces around the use of tobacco, cannabis and e-cigarettes

Join a webinar on the Lower-Risk Cannabis Use Guidelines (LRCUG), presented by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

The guidelines include 10 recommendations on reducing risks associated with cannabis use, based on the best available scientific evidence. PHAC and CAMH have teamed up to develop a new set of tools to support professionals to promote the use of the guidelines. These include a slide deck, FAQs, poster and evidence summary.
