This video series is a collaboration of family members supporting youth at CAMH’s Slaight Centre for Youth in Transition and the RBC Patient and Family Learning Space. This series includes suggested resources, programs and services directed at helping families navigate mental health services.

1. Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Provincial Advisory Table 

It is encouraging to see a team at Ontario Health dedicated now to developing care standards for it.  What is still lagging is our awareness of menopause as a factor in both mental health and addiction.  Research is growing in this area.  Below are a few recent journal articles.

The Schizophrenia Society of York University (SSY) is the first and only schizophrenia awareness club organization at York University that raises awareness and humanizes individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. We provide a voice for people with schizophrenia and other mental illnesses, and create an atmosphere of de-stigmatization at York University.

Join us for two virtual workshops where we explore how caregivers can support their family members who are hearing voices due to psychosis. These online, 2-hour interactive sessions will help caregivers gain a deeper understanding into the context of hearing voices others can’t, contributing factors that help or harm a voice hearer’s experience of their voices, and how to use a CBT-p informed approach to communicate and support someone in their voice hearing.
