Blood flow in the brain, or cerebral blood flow (CBF), is not only an indicator of brain health but also of a person’s overall vascular health. Bipolar disorder has been linked to cardiovascular health and problems with blood vessels in general. There have been numerous studies that showed abnormal CBF in adults with bipolar disorder, especially in relation to mood symptoms. But little is known about CBF in youth with bipolar disorder.

The Harm Reduction Hangouts project (HRH) is a peer support-based harm reduction drop-in series, by and for 2SQTBIPOC youth. As we enter our last month of programming, the team is hosting final consultation circles for 2SQTBIPOC youth 16-21 to share their experiences with HRH drop-ins or, if they haven’t attended, why not/what they would have wanted.
Consultations are set for Wednesday, August 17 from 6-8pm (virtual via Zoom though possibly hybrid based on demand).

Young people continue to play a pivotal role in social and political movements, leading change-making efforts in communities across Ontario. Youth organizing embraces both individual development and social change, but how can positive adult allyship meaningfully support youth-led movements?
YouthREX is excited to co-present this engaging, youth-led conversation on advancing the possibilities of youth-led organizing with Leading in Colour.
This online workshop will draw on an anti-racism and anti-Black racism perspective to examine social justice, systemic change and resistance in Ontario’s youth sector.
We will explore strategies promoted as part of anti-racism efforts such as critical reflexivity, organizational accountability and Black youth capacity building, and interrogate their applicability to racial justice and Black youth wellbeing.

Anxiety disorders represent one of the most prevalent forms of psychopathology among children. As such, many children are referred to therapy to help them cope with anxiety symptoms. The most efficacious treatment for childhood anxiety in the research is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Join us for this two-part workshop to learn the basic concepts, terminologies, social context, and organizational realities of oppression.
