Last year, in collaboration with artists in our community, MICA collaborated with In the Wind Art Collective and the Creative Café to host an art market that brought together artists who share a passion for the arts with artists in our community who also live with mental illness. Everyone enjoyed the evening of art, music and poetry so much we decided to host a second Art Market this December.

Gratitude is widely perceived as a key factor to wellbeing by different cultures and faiths. There is growing research in the relationship between the benefits of gratitude and caregiver coping. In this workshop, we will examine gratitude as one intervention for coping and provide time saving and practical exercises to foster gratitude.
FREE Mindfulness Meditation Course for Youth Events
The Art of Life Community Health Centre presents the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Course for Youth (ages 14 to 27).
Weekly one-hour online classes for 8-weeks.
The focus of this series of mindfulness lessons is to help youth impacted by social isolation, depression, anxiety, fear, and loneliness to learn the tools of mindfulness meditation to improve their resilience in the face of new challenges brought on by the COVID pandemic.

Emotional Well-being and Caregiver Coping During COVID-19 Events
These are unprecedented times. We need to work hard to manage our emotions and provide support for those in our care to do the same. Naturally, we may feel anxiety and frustration due to the many changes brought on by the pandemic, and see this in our family members too. While our anxiety can help us to cope, especially if we manage it well, we must also seize opportunities to share lightness and humour, and can find moments of hope and resilience around us despite the uncertainty.

After part one of the webinar, hosts have been having conversations with people who have expertise and experience relating to trauma-informed care. They feel it is crucial a safe space is created for these conversations, and the well-being of everyone participating and listening to the webinar is a top priority. In order to take the time to reflect on this, and to think about an appropriate structure and format, we are re-scheduling this webinar to Thursday, August 13 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm.
